Is there is someone bugging you to do something you don't really want to do? If you don't do it, are you scared that everyone will call you a wimp, or a chicken? Don't know what to do? Saying no is the answer and is a perfectly acceptable assertive method of communication.
- Tell the other person straight out "no". Show no emotion like smiling or giggling because they may think that you are not serious. If you tell them no, there are chances that they'd respect you. If that doesn't work, go on to the next step.
- Ignore them. If you ignore them, they may just stop or say, "whatever". If not, you should go on to the next step.
- Walk away. Just walk away. If you walk away, then you wouldn't hear them because they're not talking to you and you're too far away.
- Deal with it. Deal with all the comments from other people saying and telling you that you're a chicken, or that you are a wimp. Who cares what other people say? You're the good person, and you're the person that is not a wimp or a chicken to stand up to other people.
- Show that you don't care. Show the person that is calling you chicken, THAT YOU DON'T CARE! If they see that, then their likely to stop, or not do anything. If not, just keep acting, know that you did the right thing, AND your the cool one, not the Tell It To Everyone It All. (or the person who spreads roumors.)
Warnings
- People may call you a chicken.
- Friends of the person you turned down may think you're mean, or even hate you.
- Some might tease you, or spread stuff about you.
